This question is aimed at handbag enthusiasts.

I am debating about purchasing the Dior Gaucho Saddle Bag which is a lovely bag. However you can either go for the tote (which is the two handled one, which can be worn over the arm) or the single strap one which is designed for across the body, i cannot decide which is the best one!
Any advice would be great

Anyway, whilst i get over myself lol, i think the that the tote is best option, because it can be used everyday and will compliment every outfit. Whereas the over the body will go over your outfit, but it might be better if you work in a city, because no pick pockets will be able to get near it lol. It depends on your personal preference, i think a tote is best for everyday use, it will go with everything.

Anyway who cares which one you get as long as it’s dior! OMG i envy you so so much!

you should try a filene’s basement store, if there’s one near you. it’s kind of like a nicer t.j. maxx or marshall’s. they usually have alot of designer stuff for a little bit lower prices. at any of these places, the prices are lower, but it’s still kind of expensive. you’re not going to find a genuine fendi bag lying around somewhere for $20. just keep that in mind.

Do you think it generally also means she is high maintenance and expects guys to really splash a lot of $$$$ on her (wining and dining in expensive restaurants? Most girls I know have those designer bags in London and I am single, so sometimes I wonder because I only want a girl who likes me for who I am.

My last girlfriend was not into designer clothes and even bought clothes from thrift stores (I could never do that). She was the nicest girlfriend ever and always talked about the value of money – even if it was my money. I liked that she cared even though I could and did buy really nice things for her. Another girl I dated who was high maintenance basically had the attitude that guys should pay for everything. I admit I have a few designer clothes (which I worked for and paid with my own money) but am quite grounded and mostly buy from regular stores.

So expensive taste = high maintenance or not? Is it wrong to make these assumptions on women who have the taste for designer handbags or mostly right?

Obviously, it’s wrong to make generalizations and place a large group of people into one defining category; however, if a woman has expensive taste she has expensive taste. I mean, if she prefers having designer clothing and hand bags, then she probably expects anything you do for her to be on par with that standard. For example, if you take her out to dinner, she’ll maybe be disappointed in anything less than a 5 star place. Some might not even want to be seen with you if you aren’t dressed by designers, as well. Finally, some might prefer to dress that way for their own reasons and not care about whether or not some one else can afford it too. They like it so they buy it and wear it. It’s that simple for some of them, but I’m sure that plenty of them would fall into the high maintenance category.
